Zika Vector Surveys
We found Asian tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus) in 2017 and 2018 at one location in Wisconsin. The very cold 2018-2019 winter is likely to have killed any of these mosquitoes that were attempting to make it through the winter.
We’ll be continuing to monitor this species, a potential vector of Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya viruses, during 2019.
